Alaska and Yukon tour   10 , VIC, Australia, Jun 2018
On our Alaska, Yukon, Canada trip we had the most amazing guide, Wade. I cannot speak more highly of him he made everything come alive and there was passion in the country we saw. We saw such a diversified lot of country and the culture of the land which was most interesting. Even though we had to buy most meals this was OK as we didn't overeat so that ...read more was a bonus considering we were going on a cruise for a week after the tour.

It was fast paced but we were given lots of breaks on the coach so no time for the joints to set and stiffen up. Our days were filled with places of interest especially the days of long travel it made you feel as though it wasn't just bus sitting but we saw things. Wade played a few documentaries which were applicable to each place and gave us the history of the area which made our visit to places more meaningful. Overall it was an awesome trip and I would recommend to any age to go on.
I just love Canada 4 , VIC, Australia, Jun 2017
I had so much fun and my fellow travellers are also to thank for this. Everything was as I had come to expect from Cosmos. Kris was a great guide, very confident, entertaining and fully of information and wonderful stories. Kane was a very careful and considerate driver full of his own stories maybe a bit aloof at times. With all the trips I take, ...read more I always try to get value for money and see as much as I can in the time allowed. Of course this often means travelling long days over many miles but that's my choice. The guide and driver make it as pleasant as possible. With many stop for drinks, eats and photos.

Having the midnight sun certainly helped stretch out the days, as it was always light enough to check out the town we arrived in socialize with the other trip members etc, before setting off the next morning. I loved everything about Alaska and the Yukon but I guess seeing bits of the Glacier fall off on the very first day was hard to beat. The White Pass train showed us some breathtaking scenery and Dawson City has the best piano player around. We were lucky enough to see plenty of wildlife but I think it was the natural pure, true beauty of Canada and Alaska that blew me away.

I enjoyed the cruise but felt that the internet should have been free (not that I used it, not at 79c US a minute). Still the staff could not have been more helpful and again it was a very pleasant first time experience. Great day excursion off the cruise, once again seeing plenty of wildlife and lovely towns. If I had to complain about anything it would be just that I wished things could have been paid for in cash onboard and not always the credit card. Made things a bit more expensive with the US/AUS exchange rate.
Cruise extension was superb 4 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2015
Really enjoyed the tour of Alaska and especially the Yukon. The young Tour guide (MJ), did her best to entertain us all on the very long days between towns. found her stories and games very entertaining, helped past the time on the coach. What can I say about our driver (Lane), he was really great. His commentary and jokes were exceptional. About the ...read more tour itself, I would have preferred to pay a little extra for the tour to include breakfast at all the hotels/motels we stayed at. Also the rooms were nice and comfortable but not much space for two suit cases. Found this problem in most places we stayed. The Cruise extension was superb, I would give the ship a 6 star rating for the accommodation, food and entertainment. had a really enjoyable and relaxing voyage from Seward down to Vancouver.
Enjoyed it immensely 3 , VIC, Australia, Aug 2015
Enjoyed it immensely. Especially the Alaska & Yukon section. Glacier viewing on cruise to Valdez was great. Saw some whales and seals as well. Saw some way out places.e.g. Tok and Dawson City - only place I've seen where a road grader runs along the main street. The narrated cruise at Fairbanks was very informative. Saw a fair bit of wild life on Denali ...read more tour. The white water rafting and White Pass Rail were both exciting. Hotels were generally of a high quality as long as you didn't expect too much in some remote places. Lack of breakfasts was a minor problem as most times we were directed to supermarkets where we could obtain supplies. The cruise down the inside passage was most enjoyable except for the change in the weather making going ashore a damp experience. On board entertainment was good. Cosmos provided transfer vouchers at the finish for people going back to hotel to join another tour. My only suggestion is that the initial meeting with tour leader should be more organised - i.e. all meet at a fixed time and not in dribs and drabs as people arrived at hotel. Took a long time to get through the information with a lot of repetition. Coach driver was well informed on Yukon and added to the commentary on many occasions.
Very good trip made better by a great tour leader/driver 1 , VIC, Australia, Aug 2015
This was a very good trip made better by a great tour leader and driver (Mike & Mark). The highlight was the cruise on Prince William Sound, including lunch, where we saw many animals and the awesome Columbia Glacier. I felt that accommodation quality was lacking in a couple of places notably Dawson City and Denali and that continental breakfast daily ...read more should be included.
Loved it!!!!!!!!!! 2 , QLD, Australia, May 2015
The Alaska & the Yukon - loved it!!!!!!!!!! What a beautiful country, and what a thrill to see so much wildlife. Would recommend this tour to anyone, some of the accommodation wasn't the best but if that's all there is (and it was) it was OK. We had such a good time, Dawson City was exactly what we expected, Tok, what can you say, Chicken - unbelievable, ...read more as was the railway journey to Skagway - another delightful and quaint place. Enjoyed the way the journey started with a trip on Prince William sound, Whales included, Valdez (another quaint one). Jennifer, our courier had loads of information on board, things to keep us entertained (ask her about the Moose drawing competition) what a laugh! The excursion to Jeff King's Husky Homestead was one highlight of many, he was very entertaining, we took the optional Arctic Circle flight to Coldshoe & Wiseman, very fascinating and informative, and of course to finish off the Wilderness tour into Denali Park (forget the snack pack - full of rubbishy stuff, could have had a sandwich and piece of fruit instead), although the day was great as far as wildlife goes (plenty of it) the polish was taken off somewhat by the very, very, long day - 3 hours too long and so unnecessary.
Thoroughly enjoyed both the coach tour and the cruise 0 , Australia, Aug 2014
I thoroughly enjoyed both the coach tour and the cruise through the inside passage in The USA and the Yukon. This is a magnifently scenic wilderness and it would have been hard not to enjoy the views. Some of the optional tours were, I thought, a bit overpriced even given the fact that this was Alaska and one in particular - the wildlife tour in Denali ...read more National Park- needs a rethink about the type of buses being using. Old converted school buses with bar across the windows and very cramped accommodation were not ideal conditions for viewing the wildlife and the scenery. Notwithstanding that, this was one of my more memorable journeys and one which I will hope to repeat at some time in the future.
